WELWOOD, Painter
I have worked with acrylics, watercolour, oils. watercolour and
acrylic inks, monoprinting, sculpture with clay, wax to bronze
and soapstone. All of the mediums have been enjoyable. I have
taken more than twenty-five courses at the Haliburton School of
the Arts over the years as well as fine art courses in the areas
of Ontario where I have lived. The courses along with my
constant search for information in my reading have contributed
to my present techniques.
Always being open to new ways of creating fine art has brought
me to the fluid acrylics, as my medium of choice. I began
painting with fluid acrylics in 1998. My paintings are mainly
nonobjective abstract with the dominant force being beautiful,
bold, intense color. My inspiration comes from different
sources, where I have traveled, thought about, seen or heard
including the music I listen to as I paint. An intuitive
approach to my painting allows for a pleasing design painted
with energy and freedom. Creating fine art is exciting and a joy
that I believe shows in my paintings. I am pleased to receive
visitors who are interested in fine arts to my studio.
